The Steppingstone Foundation is a non-profit organization, which develops and implements programs that prepare urban schoolchildren for educational opportunities that lead to college.

The Steppingstone Academy
The Steppingstone Academy is comprised of three divisions. Academy Six, Seven and Nine work with students in grades 5, 6, and 7 and 8 respectively, preparing them to enter college preparatory schools in the sixth, seventh and ninth grade. We offer after-school and Saturday classes for motivated students who have the desire to attend an independent or public exam school.

Teaching Opportunities in: 5th through 8th grade English, writing, math, study skills and Challenges and Choices – a social-emotional skills class designed by the Steppingstone counseling department. Our fall curricula includes test preparation skills in English and math as Scholars prepare for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).

Time Commitment and Location: Classes will likely be held at Boston Latin Academy, Dorchester (with some dates in alternate locations). We are also looking for a small number of positions for our East Boston location.

Classes take place on Wednesdays from 4:15 to 6:45pm and Saturdays from 8:45 am to 3:45pm.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with schedule and experience.

Qualifications: Candidates must have teaching experience, a strong background in the subject area, and an interest in working with diverse populations. Independent or public exam school teaching experience is preferred, and graduate students will be strongly considered. Undergraduate degree is required. Certification is not required.
