Luisa
Hennigan Elementary School
The Winsor School
When I first started at Winsor, I was nervous. I didn't know what to expect, or how it all worked. You see private schools in the movies and they show everyone as being snobby. But it turns out it is a lot of fun. The teachers really help everyone get to know each other.
My favorite class right now is history, because we are learning about ancient Rome. We are learning some Latin, and about Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony and the daily lives of Romans. Ancient China is next!
Steppingstone has helped me learn how to be an active reader. We have to do it a lot at Winsor, and it's easy and fast for me now. Yes, Steppingstone is a challenge, since you have to balance your schoolwork and your Steppingstone work. But it's worth it - you make new friends fast, and without even knowing it, all of a sudden you've learned a lot.

"Everyone here at St. Seb's is close. There is no competing for who is better. Steppingstone helped with finding that person inside of me who loves people, and now I am able to connect with all types of people." Edosa plays football, basketball, and lacrosse.
Phi

St. Sebastian’s School
Steppingstone Teaching Assistant
Phi’s advice for Steppingstone Scholars when they start at a new school: "Don’t procrastinate. Get your homework done before anything else. Once you get into a groove, it becomes easier to manage your time and enjoy extracurricular activities as well. I was able to play football and baseball during my first two years at St. Seb’s."
