Our nation needs more programs like Steppingstone to meet the challenges of an increasingly diverse world where economic inequality and a lack of resources continue to threaten educational opportunity.”
-Robert P. Jackson, Director of Multicultural Recruitment
and Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, Yale University

Since The Steppingstone Foundation was founded in 1990, the growing achievement and opportunity gaps in the United States have worked to diminish college access for millions of motivated low-income urban students. For those students who get into college preparatory schools, the path to a degree from a four-year college or university, however, is well trodden. With support from parents, advisors, and teachers, children who get into these schools are far more likely to go to college than not. Steppingstone’s results bear this out: 95% of the Scholars who graduate from high school enroll in a four-year college.

With over 15 years experience in Boston and Philadelphia, The Steppingstone Foundation is eager to share its program model with individuals and organizations committed to expanding educational opportunities for underserved students. If you are eager to learn more about how to start a Steppingstone program in your community, please contact Scott Knox, National Director of Growth and Network Support at (617) 423-6300 ext. 261, or through email at: sknox@tsf.org.
