8:00 a.m. Meet my friends at the bus stop.
8:05 - 8:30 Ride the bus to the Site School (Trotter or Milton).
8:45 - 9:10 Listen to Mr. Canfield talk about traveling to Peru.
9:10 - 10:00 Period 1, Math – Ms. Charles teaches us how
to divide fractions. Homework: fraction/percentage conversion worksheet.
10:00 - 10:25 Break – play four-square; catch up with friends.
10:25 - 11:15 Period 2, Science - Ms. Peterson teaches us about wind resistence and we test our theories by racing homemade cars. Homework: write a lab report describing our car experiment
11:15 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. Period 3, P.E. – play field hockey with classmates and Mr. Mata.
12:05 - 12:30 Lunch
12:30 - 1:20 Period 4, English - Ms. Wells asks us to write
about the characteristics of the protagonist in Roll of Thunder, Hear
My Cry. Homework: read chapters 5 and 6 for a quiz.
1:20 - 2:10 Period 5, Perspectives - Ms. Ventrone asks us to compare and contrast two articles about women's suffrage. Homework: write two paragraphs about voting rights in the U.S.
2:10 - 2:20 Break - have a snack and chat with friends in the classroom
2:20 - 2:45 Study Skills– Ms. Mooney introduces the concept of time management in building strong study habits. Homework: Develop a draft strategy for studying for final exams; be prepared to present to the class.
2:45 - 3:15 Study Hall - check in with teachers about homework
and work independently
3:15 - 3:25 Dismissal to buses
Note: This schedule reflects a Steppingstone day during the six-week summer
term. During the school year, Scholars meet four to eight hours a week – in
the afternoons and on Saturdays – depending on their grade level. Link to school year calendar
