For Fourth Graders:
Students seeking admission to an independent school in the sixth grade apply to Steppingstone in the fall of their fourth grade year and begin Steppingstone classes during the summer before fifth grade.

For Fifth Graders:
Students who wish to enter either a public exam or an independent school in the seventh grade apply to Steppingstone in the fifth grade, and begin classes the following summer.

For Sixth Graders:
Students who wish to enter either an independent or public exam school in the ninth grade apply to Steppingstone in the sixth grade, and begin classes the following summer.
