Applying to Colleges

Steppingstone Advisors continue to support Scholars throughout middle school and high school as they pursue their long-term goal of attending a four-year college. Steppingstone’s college counseling services are designed to complement the college guidance programs provided by their high schools. Steppingstone Advisors provide support to help families successfully navigate the college admission and financial aid processes. This support includes tutoring, mentoring, workshops, recommendation writing, college visits, summer opportunities, access to reduced-rate SAT preparation courses, and one-on-one guidance.

Steppingstone hosts a semiannual conference, which allows Scholars and their families to attend workshops on topics such as:

The College Admission Process: An Overview
Financial Aid and Scholarships
Writing the College Essay
Mock Interviews
Introduction to the Steppingstone Alumni Network

Summer opportunities are also an important component for college admission. Therefore, Steppingstone directs Scholars to rigorous and fulfilling summer programs and offers financial aid to assist with the cost of programs.
