College Success Coach/Advisor

Position Overview

The College Success Coach/Advisor will work with a diverse group of students as they make serious choices about their education and future. Steppingstone Scholars are motivated, passionate, and provide a rewarding advising experience whether they attend high school, community college or an Ivy League school.

You will have primary responsibility for supporting and advising Scholars in their senior year of high school, and freshman and sophomore years of college. While coaches meet each Scholars’ unique needs, you will work in collaboration with a small team to provide direct college application support to Steppingstone Scholars in high school, and college transition and success support to those in college. As a member of the College Services team you will contribute to a broad base of knowledge about existing resources available to support the goals of Steppingstone Scholars. Lastly, your attention to detail will be crucial to our data-driven efforts and aid you in the necessary reporting for our grant-funded requirements.  Each coach will also participate in the exciting and innovative Success Boston Initiative. Through this, you will engage a large community of college success practitioners and will develop and maintain relationships with external partners at colleges and various agencies throughout Boston.

In addition, this position will participate fully in the execution of the organization’s summer and year-round programs. A flexible schedule with some evening and Saturday work as well as the ability to travel to partner colleges is required.
