Communications Intern

Reports to:  The Assistant Director of Advancement and Communications, and the Director of College Services

Position Overview:

The Communications Intern will play a key role in Steppingstone’s fundraising, marketing, and outreach efforts. For most projects, the intern will focus on telling their own Steppingstone story, and helping other Scholars share their Steppingstone experience. Some assignments will involve conducting interviews, so the intern must be comfortable interviewing, and giving voice to, Scholars, families, Alumni, and staff members. Because they will be crafting communications for diverse audiences (including both donors and Scholars), the intern must be able to create persuasive materials given the priorities and needs of each group.

Projects may include:

  • Producing short movies
  • Writing newsletter articles
  • Creating content for Steppingstone’s Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • General office work

Because the Communications Intern will support a wide variety of projects, they may also have the opportunity to develop technical skills in programs like InDesign, Constant Contact, and WordPress.
