Alicia reflects on her experience tutoring Scholars:

It has been a privilege to have the opportunity to tutor at the College Success Academy (CSA). I’ve loved every single second of my experience and I’ve been able to meet so many amazing people while also helping Boston Public School students succeed in school. I chose to work with CSA because I feel very passionately about the organization’s mission of helping kids get to college. It’s great that CSA provides middle school students with academic and social-emotional support, as well as role models who themselves are in college. It is an incredible program, which affords students with resources to be successful that they otherwise may not have access to.

One of my best moments at the College Success Academy was when I was helping a student with math. Math is by far one of my worst subjects, and I have always had a hard time understanding concepts in math, so it was extremely rewarding when I was able to help a student understand a concept by presenting it to them in a different way. I really hope that I have been able to make an impact both by helping kids learn and being a role model. One thing I know for sure is that these kids have absolutely had an impact on me.
